Waving the Water Park

My boys are HUGE water fans. In fact, for a long time we actually thought my oldest was part fish because he loved to swim so much. I think our younger son is well on his way to growing gills as well. So, when we were asked to check out Raging Waves in Yorkville, I jumped at the chance. Who wouldn’t want to spin through an enormous bowl of water or swoosh backwards down a slide in absolute darkness?

Yorkville is host to THE largest water park in Illinois. Raging Waves has 12 rides that range from general swimming to speed slides. It also includes kiddie splash areas and a state of the art wave pool.

My family absolutely loved our visit and we are certainly going back…we will be taking part in the $124.99 for a family of 4 summer package because this is probably the best option for us (the admission prices are a little steep but food prices are reasonable). I understand the cost of admission, as the park was undeniably immaculate, the staff was one of the friendliest I have EVER encountered, and my boys were safe.

If you live in the area I recommend a visit. Beware, though, the wind whips across the cornfields and the sun shines bright. And, the water is solar heated so after a cool rain (like we had) the water can be wicked cold.

We went to the park with Marcie and I loved it! It really was kid friendly with an employee doing juggling and passing out instamatic cameras to catch all the “fun” moments. He even offered to take pictures of our family to “capture the moment”!
The staff was super friendly, the food a decent price, and not heavy parking fees. Parking was free.
    My kind of park!!!
